1984, First Musikfest

The first Bethlehem Musikfest was held in 1984. The spelling (musik) was a nod to the City’s German roots, as was the fact that each venue was called a “Platz” (German for “place”). There was plenty of German food and music at the initial festival, but it has grown to include music and food from around the world.
