British novelist Eric Knight settled in Pleasant Valley, Pennsylvania in 1939, just one year before his novel Lassie Come-Home was published. His biographer, Geoff Gehman, shares stories from Knight’s past as a virtual orphan, child laborer, WWI vet, and dog companion. Gehman draws on his friendship with Knight’s widow, as well as his own experience as an arts writer for the Morning Call, to give us a glimpse of history.
