Books Around the World is a reading adventure where you read books written by authors from around the world.  You will learn about different cultures, the people, food, and the history.  The Rosie Project is written by Graeme Simsion, an author who was born in New Zealand.

So join us this Saturday, October 25 from 1:00-2:00 PM at the South Side Branch for a discussion of The Rosie Project.  Enjoy some refreshments while learning about New Zealand.

Zumba, Zumba, Zumba!

zumbaweb Join us at our popular Zumba classes which combine dance with fitness to burn calories. Certified Zumba instructor, Lindsay Glen, will lead FREE evening classes at the South Side Branch  at 6:30 PM on September 4, 9, 18, 25 and October 2. Dance easy-to-follow moves to salsa, merengue, reggae and hip hop tunes. The weekly classes are for children, teens and adults. Sign up for any or all!

Beach Party at the South Side Branch

Bring a beach towel and wear your bathing suit to pretend you’re at the beach!  This program is open to children of all ages and their families.  Please register on-line or call the branch at 610-867-7852.

Mad Science promises an explosive SPIN POP BOOM program!

Wholegroup Mad Science of the Lehigh Valley will perform awe-inspiring science demonstrations at the Library on Tuesday, July 15. Audience participation is encouraged  in this fast-paced, one-hour show.  The first performance at the South Side Branch at 11 AM has limited space, and so registration is required by phoning 610-867-7852. The second performance is at the Main Library at 6:30 PM. (No registration is required at the Main Library). Ages 4 to adult. Free and open to the public.

The event is part of the science-based Fizz, Boom, Read summer reading program. Activities all summer long encourage children to retain their comprehension skills over the summer by reading for incentives. Mad Science is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Ms. Frizzle and the Magic School Bus takes center stage for Movie Night at the beautifully renovated South Side Branch at 6:30 PM. Refreshments & popcorn!

Don a futuristic costume for stories, games, and outer space activities at Family Fun Night’s In a Galaxy Far Far Away  at the Main Library at 6:30 PM.
