Free and open to the public. Please register and bring three gently used books to swap for others.

There are many programs taking place at the South Side Branch from now until the end of 2016.

STEM Workshops:  Tuesday, November 29 and December 6, 4:30-5:30 PM.  For students in grades 2 – 8.  No registration required.  Snacks provided.

Snack Box Storytime:  Thursday, December 1, 8, & 15, 10:30-11:15 AM.  Bring your child to hear stories, sing songs, do a craft, and eat a snack.  No registration required.  All ages.  Please ring door bell near the library’s book drop.

Create with Me – Learn together!  Parent/child art classes:  Saturday, December 10, 12:00 – 1:00 PM.  Explore a variety of hands-on art and creative activities.  This art program is for ages 2-8 with an adult.  REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.

Holiday Party:  Tuesday, December 13, 6:30-7:15 PM.  Bring your family and share a visit with Santa!  Stories, games, songs, snacks, and a craft.  REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.  Space is limited.

Spot the Dot:  Wednesday, December 14, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM.  Open to all ages.  The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts Senior Theatre Company production of an adaptation of You are Special by Max Lucado.  This engaging story emphasizes how special each person is regardless of what others think of them.  FREE!  No registration.

Handmade Holiday:  Thursday, December 1, 6:00-7:00 PM.  This event is for parents and their children.  Parents, while you are making a craft, your child will enjoy some winter stories, do a craft, and have a snack.  REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.

Yarns n’ Threads:  Saturday, December 3, 1:00-3:00 PM.  This gathering is open to anyone who enjoys crocheting, knitting, or any other kind of needlecraft.  Enjoy the company while you work on your project.  Snacks provided.  No registration required.

Basic Computer Skills workshop for adults:  Saturday, December 17, 1:00-3:00 PM.  Registration required, space is limited.

Holiday Gift Shop:  Tuesday, December 20, 6:00-7:00 PM.  Children and parents can shop for trinkets, jewelry, and holiday accessories, alone or together.  Everything is priced less than $5.00.

 

South Side Book Sale

Saturday, November 19, is the last day for the book sale at the South Side Branch.  The book sale will be from 12 – 3 PM.

 

SPECIAL PRICING:  EVERYTHING IS 1/2 PRICE!

You can’t get a better bargain than this.  Thousands of titles, both children’s, teens, and adult material.  Not only are there books, but movies, music, puppets, and jig saw puzzles.

Great selection of cookbooks, coffee table books, and teacher resource material.  Many books are “like new” condition.

Material is in English and in Spanish!

So come and support the book sale at the South Side Branch at 4th & Webster Sts.

There are only two days left.  The South Side Book Sale will be open on Thursday, November 17 from 5-8 PM and Saturday, November 19 from 12-3 PM.

 

On Thursday, come and find specials in the juvenile section.  Whether you are interested in non-fiction or fiction, there will be a special pricing deal for you!

The South Side Branch Book Sale is here!  The hours for the sale are:  Tuesday, November 15 from 11 AM-3 PM, Wednesday, November 16 from 11 AM-3 PM, Thursday, November 17 from 5-8 PM, and Saturday, November 19 from 12-3 PM.

If you like cookbooks there will be something here for you.  There are many “like new” fiction titles and a lot of teen material.  You’ll have your pick of coffee table books also.  There are also great resources for teachers.

zombiescastlewebBethlehem Area Public Library invites the public to celebrate the spookiness of the season with a choice of four programs. On Tuesday, October 25 at 6:30 pm both the Main Library, 11 W. Church Street, and the South Side Branch, 400 Webster Street, will host family Halloween parties. Come in costume for stories, crafts, and games. Registration is required at the South Side Branch, only.

Author Katherine Ramsland brings tales of the macabre at Who’s Out There: The Menace of Ghosts, Rippers and Serial Creepers on Tuesday, October 25 at 6:30 pm at the Main Library. The program will include discussion of the prolific writer’s  latest books, Confession of a Serial Killer and The Ripper Letter. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

Students in grades 6 to 12 are encouraged to compete in the Teen Fear Factor on Wednesday, October 26 at 6:30 pm at the Main Library. Dress in costume for the disgusting challenges. Prizes will be awarded to top competitors. No registration.

bookkidsThe Library’s Learn and Grow program for toddlers, ages 1 to 3, offers educational toys and activities, as well as helpful connections to community early childhood development professionals. Parents have a chance to meet individually with childhood experts to ask questions and raise concerns about their child’s emotional, physical and mental health.

Register for Learn and Grow series at the South Side Branch or the Main Library and give your toddler a healthy start for a lifetime of learning.
