paint tubeLearn with your child by working together on exciting art projects. As part of PBS 39’s early childhood educational initiative that combines science, technology, engineering, art and math activities to engage young children, the Create with Me art-based program will be held at  Library for children ages 2 to 8 with an adult. The Saturday classes begin January 16 at the South Side Branch at noon and will be held alternate months at the Main Library on February 20, April 16 and June 18. Additional classes at the Branch are scheduled for  March 19 and May 21. The free classes are part of the public radio station’s Full STEAM Ahead program to expose children to the arts and provide educational resources through community partnerships. Come to one or all!

Computer instruction- small class size

Did you know that building with LEGO and DUPLO blocks triggers engineering and math skills, develops spatial reasoning and teaches fractions and division? Come to a Building Bonanza for children ages 3-10, accompanied by an adult, on Saturday, January 9.

Would you benefit from therapeutic yoga?

yogaman Therapeutic yoga classes will be offered on Saturdays beginning January 2 at 11:00AM. Gentle movement will be blended with psychotherapeutic teaching to relieve physical symptoms of grief, anxiety, depression and stress. Windy Littner Thomson M. Ed., Licensed Counselor and Registered Yoga Teacher will lead the sessions. The 90 minute classes will also be offered on January 16 and 23. Prior experience is not needed. Wear comfortable clothes and bring a yoga mat. Class size is limited and registration is required. Register here

holidaygreensLearn to make traditional beeswax candles trimmed in red ribbon at the Main Library on Saturday, December 12. This custom originated in 1747 in the Moravian Church. The candles are traditionally distributed on Christmas Eve.

Christmas, Celtic & Classical music on Saturday

MRL3Madeline Rose Link will perform a variety of Christmas, Celtic and classical music at the Main Library on Saturday, December 12 at noon. Maddie has been playing the traditional harp professionally for events across the Lehigh Valley and the greater Philadelphia area for nine years. She has a particular interest in composition, and her performances include some of her own arrangements.
