NLW-bubble-web-400px_0Celebrate National Library Week (April 13-19) with us! Tell us how BAPL has changed your life for the better. Why do you think our Library is so valuable to our community? Do you have a shout out for our librarians and support staff?

It’s no surprise that National Library Week follows on the heels of National Volunteer Week (April 6-12). The Library is very fortunate to have over 100 volunteers that work behind the scenes, shelving DVDs, helping with the book sales, and delivering books to our homebound patrons. They value the Library and we appreciate their support.

You can support the Library, too. This week renewal memberships were mailed to our Friends of the Library. Join the Friends or discover other ways to support the Library now and into the future at Support Your Library.

toddlers at play pixIt’s never too early to make sure your child will be ready to learn when he or she begins kindergarten. Family Place at the South Side Branch connects parents of toddlers, ages 1-3, with early childhood professionals to insure their children are developing on track physically, emotionally and mentally. Children play with educational toys at Toddlers At Play,  and parents talk informally one-on-one with professionals from area agencies. Parenting resources will be available at the program. Circle time, music and art projects round out the Family Place experience. Siblings are also welcome to attend. The 5 week series begins on Wednesday, April 9 at 11:15 a.m. The free program continues on consecutive Wednesdays through May 7.
