Today, Friday the 13th, the Main Library will close at 1 PM.  The South Side Branch will be open from 1 to 5.  The Main Library will reopen Monday at 9 AM.   The South Side will reopen on Monday at 11 AM. 

During Musikfest the Main Library Bookdrops are CLOSED when the Library is CLOSED.  The Bookdrops will close today at 1 PM and open Monday at 9 AM. 

The South Side Branch Bookdrops are OPEN when the South Side is CLOSED.  Sooo. . . The South Side Bookdrops will be OPEN from 5 PM Friday to 11 AM Monday.

Over the last two years, Commonwealth libraries have lost one-third of our funding from the state. We’ve bore an excessive share of state budget cuts. Demand for library service is up and further cuts are unconscionable.

One of strongest library supporters in the PA General Assembly, Representative Steve Samuelson, is conducting a House Majority (Democratic) Policy Committee hearing on library funding today.

The hearing will take place on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at the Prosser Auditorium at Moravian College, 1200 Main Street in Bethlehem. The hearing is from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Please attend and be an advocate for the library.  Your library makes a valuable contribution to economic development and life-long education. Tell them that.

Yes, folks - - -  MUSIKFEST is HERE!   It starts today, August 6th, at 5 PM and continues through Sunday, August 15th.

The Library will CLOSE at 5 PM  TODAY, August 6th.

The  Library is CLOSED  tomorrow, Saturday, August 7th and next Saturday, August 14th.

Next week, Monday, August 9th through Friday, August 13th the Main Library will be OPEN from 9 AM to 1 PM.  The South Side Branch will be OPEN from 1 PM to 5 PM.

No items are due during Musikfest.   (But if you have something that is already overdue, fines will continue to grow during Musikfest.)

And here’s the scoop on the BOOKDROPS.  The Main Library Bookdrop is open when the Main Library is OPEN.  The South Side Branch Bookdrop is open when the South Side Branch is CLOSED.
