James Hubert Ward

JAMES HUBERT WARD

Vice-President of the Bethlehem Steel Corporation, was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., forty years ago, and has been associated with Charles M. Schwab for twenty years, dating from the time he was president of the Carnegie Steel Company. During that time it has been Mr. Ward’s privilege of meeting all of the prominent personages of the world. He is a man of high ideals, public spirited and enterprising, with marked individuality of character, is well­informed on current topics, and his active career has been a power for good in not only this, but other communities.

Henry R. Walters

HENRY R. WALTERS

Real estate agent of the Bethlehem Steel Company, was born in Ashby, England in 1876, a son of Edmund and Anna (Browne) Walters. He was educated at Lehigh University, from which institution he graduated in 1903. He was engaged at the Llewellyn Iron Works, Los Angeles, Cal., and later with the Santa Fe Railroad at Prescott, Arizona. He subsequently came east as superintendent of manufacture for the Guerber Engineering Company of this place and in 1908 became superintendent of the bridge shop of the Bethlehem Steel Company, from which position he was promoted later as fabricating engineer. Mr. Walters also superintended the erection of the company’s new office building here. As real estate agent of this giant concern his record speaks for itself. He has the gift of making friends wherever he goes and is a very popular and much esteemed citizen. He is a member of the Bethlehem Club, University Club, Northampton County Country Club, Associate Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. When the new Chamber of Commerce was organized he was made one of the first directors. In 1906 he married Miss Ethel Wales, of No. 1649 Linden Street, Allentown, formerly of Washington, D.C. At Lehigh he was a famous lacrosse star. At present Mr. Walters is busy with the government in providing 2000 homes for workmen here.
